Customizable Security Systems in Crosby

You're not home right now. Maybe you're at work, maybe you're traveling, maybe you're just running errands. And somewhere in the back of your mind, there's that question: is everything okay back there?

With property crime in Crosby sitting at 12 per thousand residents, that's not paranoia. That's reality. A burglary happens every 18 seconds somewhere in the U.S., and homes without security systems are 300% more likely to get hit.

Here's what changes when you have a professionally monitored security alarm. When something triggers your system, our monitoring center gets the signal within seconds. Not minutes. Seconds. Trained operators start verification immediately and dispatch help if needed. You get an alert on your phone. You can check your cameras. And if you can't respond, we handle it.

You also start saving money immediately. Most Texas insurers offer discounts up to 15% on annual premiums for monitored security systems. For the average homeowner, that's around $360 back in your pocket every year. The system practically pays for itself.

We've Been Doing This in Houston for 15 Years

Security Alarm Installation in Crosby

We're not a national call center. We're a family-owned company that's been installing and monitoring customizable alarm systems in the Houston area since 2008. We've protected over 700 homes and businesses in Harris County, and we're 100% licensed and insured.

We've won the Angie's List Super Service Award and Best of Home Advisor recognition because we show up when we say we will, we install systems correctly the first time, and we're still here when you need support. Most of our installations happen within 24 to 48 hours of your call. Many happen the same day.

If you already have equipment installed but it's not monitored or it's outdated, we can often work with what you have. We add cellular communication, connect it to our monitoring center, and suddenly that old system is actually protecting you. That's usually much more affordable than starting from scratch, and it's one of the ways we keep costs reasonable for Crosby families.

How It Works

Here's Exactly What Happens When You Call

How Security System Installation Works

First, we talk. You tell us what you're concerned about, what you want to protect, and what your budget looks like. We ask about your home layout, whether you have pets, if you want cameras, and how you want to control everything. This usually takes 15 minutes.

Then we come out and do a walkthrough. We look at entry points, sight lines for cameras, where motion detectors make sense, and how to set everything up so it actually works with how you live. We're not trying to sell you the most expensive system. We're trying to design something that makes sense for your specific situation.

Installation typically takes a few hours depending on how many devices you're adding. We mount the panel, place sensors on doors and windows, position motion detectors and cameras, and set up your smart home integration if you want it. Everything gets tested before we leave. You'll know how to arm and disarm your system, how to use the app, and what happens when an alarm goes off.

After that, our monitoring center is watching 24/7. You'll have our number for support. And if you ever want to add cameras, smart locks, or additional sensors down the road, we can do that anytime.

What You Actually Get With Our Systems

Crosby Home Security Alarm Options

Every customizable security system we install includes door and window sensors, a control panel, motion detectors, and 24/7 professional monitoring starting at $17 per month with no long-term contract. That's the foundation. From there, you add what matters to you.

Most Crosby homeowners add video cameras. You can check them from your phone anytime, get alerts when motion is detected, and review footage if something happens. Video doorbells let you see and talk to whoever's at your door whether you're home or not. Smart locks mean you can lock or unlock your doors remotely, give temporary access codes to contractors or guests, and get notifications when someone enters.

Fire and carbon monoxide monitoring are included in most systems. If smoke or CO is detected, the monitoring center is notified immediately and fire services are dispatched. Environmental sensors can alert you to water leaks, freezing temperatures, or other issues that could cause damage while you're away.

Everything integrates through one app. You control your alarm, view cameras, lock doors, and adjust smart lighting from the same place. And because more than 50% of homes now have at least one security camera, these systems are designed to work with devices you might already own. Ring doorbells, Nest cameras, smart thermostats—most of it connects.

The monitoring piece is what separates a real security system from just having cameras. When your alarm triggers, our central station verifies what's happening and takes action. That's the difference between hoping you'll notice an alert on your phone and knowing that trained professionals are already responding.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a security alarm actually lower my homeowners insurance premium?

Yes, and it's one of the most overlooked benefits of installing a monitored system. The Texas Department of Insurance encourages insurers to offer discounts for homes with monitored security alarms or smart home systems, and most major carriers do.

The discount typically ranges from 10% to 20% on your annual premium. For the average Texas homeowner paying around $2,400 per year, a 15% discount saves you $360 annually. Over five years, that's $1,800 back in your pocket—often more than the cost of the system itself.

The key word is "monitored." Insurance companies want to see that someone is actively watching your system and will dispatch help when needed. A DIY system you monitor yourself usually doesn't qualify. You'll need to provide proof of professional monitoring to your insurance agent, which we can give you immediately after installation.

How fast does someone respond when my alarm goes off?

Our monitoring center receives the signal within seconds of your alarm triggering. From there, response time depends on what type of alarm it is and whether we can reach you for verification.

For burglary alarms, operators immediately attempt to contact you using the phone numbers you've provided. If you answer and give your passcode, we'll ask if everything is okay or if you need police dispatched. If we can't reach you, or if you don't provide the correct passcode, we dispatch police to your home. This entire process typically takes under two minutes.

Fire alarms get even faster response. Because of the life-safety risk, fire department dispatch often happens simultaneously with attempts to contact you. Carbon monoxide alarms work the same way.

You'll also get push notifications on your phone the moment any alarm triggers, so you can check your cameras and see what's happening in real time. Many false alarms get resolved quickly because homeowners can see it was just the dog or a door they forgot to close. But if you don't respond, we're already taking action.

Can you work with the alarm equipment I already have installed?

In many cases, yes. A lot of Crosby homes have alarm equipment that was installed years ago but isn't monitored anymore, or the previous monitoring company went out of business, or the system uses outdated phone-line technology that doesn't work reliably.

If your equipment is from a major manufacturer and it's still functional, we can often add a cellular communicator to connect it to our monitoring center. This is usually much less expensive than replacing everything, and it gets your system working again within a day or two.

We'll need to come out and evaluate what you have. Some older systems are too outdated or proprietary to work with modern monitoring technology. But if the sensors, panel, and wiring are in decent shape, there's a good chance we can bring it back to life. We've done this for dozens of Houston-area homeowners who thought they'd need to start from scratch.

Even if we do need to replace the panel or some sensors, we can often reuse the wiring and placement, which speeds up installation and keeps costs down.

What happens if my power or internet goes out?

Your security system keeps working. Every system we install includes battery backup that keeps the panel and sensors running for 24 hours or more during a power outage. In Houston, where storms can knock out power for extended periods, this isn't optional—it's essential.

For communication, we use cellular connections to our monitoring center, not your internet. Even if your Wi-Fi goes down, your alarm signals still get through. This is also why we don't rely on phone lines, which can be cut by intruders or go down during outages.

Your cameras and smart home devices do need internet to send video or allow remote access through the app. During an outage, you won't be able to view live feeds remotely. But the core alarm system—door sensors, motion detectors, the panel itself—continues monitoring and will still alert our central station if something triggers.

Some homeowners add cellular backup for their internet router or choose cameras with local storage so footage is still recorded even without internet. We can talk through those options if you're in an area with frequent outages or if you travel often and want that extra layer of reliability.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract for monitoring?

No. We offer monitoring starting at $17 per month with no long-term contract required. You're not locked in for three or five years like you are with some of the big national companies.

This is one of the biggest differences between working with a local company and signing up with a corporate provider. We keep your business by showing up when you need us and providing reliable service, not by trapping you in a contract with early termination fees.

If you ever want to cancel monitoring, you can. If you want to upgrade your system or add devices, we'll help you do that without resetting a contract term. And if you move, we can often transfer your system to your new home or help the new owners take over monitoring if they're interested.

The equipment itself is yours. You're not renting it. We install it, you own it, and you pay month-to-month for the monitoring service. That's it.

How do I know if I actually need a security system?

If you've ever left home and wondered whether you locked the door, or if you've traveled and worried about what's happening back at your house, you'd benefit from a security system. It's not just about stopping burglaries—though that's a big part of it.

Crosby's property crime rate means there's an above-average chance of becoming a victim compared to other Texas communities. Homes without security systems are three times more likely to be targeted. But beyond that, these systems give you visibility and control when you're not there.

You can check if the kids got home from school. You can let in a contractor while you're at work. You can get alerts if there's a water leak, if the temperature drops too low and your pipes might freeze, or if smoke is detected. You'll know immediately if someone opens a door or window when the system is armed.

Most of our customers say the value isn't just in the few times the alarm might scare off an intruder. It's in the daily peace of mind. It's not worrying when you're out of town. It's being able to check your cameras and confirm everything is fine instead of wondering. And it's the insurance savings, which often cover a significant portion of the monitoring cost anyway.
